Safe Steps, the social distance application for businesses to protect the health of the employees during the pandemic uses wearable device technology to facilitate social distancing, which is the most important measure to be taken against the spread of COVID-19. Wearable devices developed for workplaces and suitable for all working conditions warn users with sound, vibration or light when they do not maintain a safe distance. Thus, employees are continuously warned about their compliance to social distancing rules during their time in the facilities. Wearable devices also record all risky close interaction data, which are used to create filiation reports when a positive case is identified in the workforce, within the framework of the rules recommended by the World Health Organization. After continuous R&D and innovation efforts, Safe Steps now offers a higher level of protection with the HES integration module.
With the addition of the HES query feature, companies that use Safe Steps can protect their employees and maintain business continuity in a more efficient way by bringing risk data from the outside world, as well as the interaction data collected within the workplace. The HES (Hayat Eve Sığar) code application was initiated by the Ministry of Health to support a controlled social life after lockdowns were lifted. This application allows individuals to privately share their risk status in terms of COVID-19 with other individuals and institutions by using a unique HES code. According to the new regulation introduced by the government, workplaces with 500 or more employees can apply to the Ministry of Health and obtain permission to query the HES code of their employees. Workplaces using Safe Steps will now be able to query the HES status of their employees through the management panel and monitor their health status. Companies with this permission will be able to query the HES code of their employees without the need for additional processing and instantly check the risk status of the employees, which will allow them to rapidly take the necessary measures to prevent the spread of the virus. With the new HES inquiry capability of Safe Steps, management can also query visitors’ HES codes and see their risk status to prevent any risky individuals from entering the facilities as well, which will allow for a more comprehensive protection of the workforce.
As the first social distance and contact tracking tool that provides this integration, Safe Steps only allows for the risk status and quarantine information of individuals to be viewed and not he health status to prevent privacy violations. Only persons such as the occupational health and safety specialist or the workplace physician authorized by the company can access this information kept encrypted. Health information or COVID-19 test results of employees are not shared in the service provided by the Ministry of Health. Only risk and quarantine status information can be viewed. In this way, the privacy rights of employees and visitors are protected.
