Women were the main characters in many of this past year’s most defining moments: from Jacinda Ardern to Özlem Türeci, many influential women have proved once again how much societies can benefit from gender equality and empowerment of women. Meanwhile, gender gap in employment continues to be an issue in Turkey and other countries. While technology industry performs better than most in terms of closing the gap, there is still a long way to go. Especially in C-level or upper management positions, tech industry is still mostly male-dominated.

To celebrate Women’s Day this year, we wanted to pay tribute to our female teammates by sharing their stories.
Zehra Sılaoğlu, Chief Finance Officer
After graduating from Gazi University with a degree in Banking and Finance, Zehra started her business life in 1999 at the Limak Construction company in Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline Project as a financial assistant. After the project, she worked as the Finance and Accounting Manager at Limak Ambassadore Hotel, for 4 years. As the Finance and Accounting Manager at Limak Eurasia Hotel, which opened in Istanbul in the summer of 2010, she had her 2nd hotel opening experience. After Limak, Zehra joined Boni Global as the CFO and was instrumental in acquiring investments and developing projects in Turkey and worldwide.
Salma Talah, Chief Marketing Officer
Graduated from INSEEC Business School in Paris with an Executive MBA in International Marketing and Brand Management after getting her MSc .degree in Marketing and Business Development from SKEMA Business School Paris and her BBA from the American University of Leadership- Florida and ESEI business school in Barcelona. With more than 9 years of International Academic and professional Background, she occupied various positions in her field working at Easy voyage France as Data Analyst, than she joined European Times Magazine Group in Belgium as International sales Consultant, later she decided to join one of the first Mobile Marketing agencies TellMedia- Paris where she worked as account manager for multiple reputable French and international brands such as YSL and Accor Group than she moved to Switzerland to work as Marketing and PR Manager at De Leeuw Metalen AG. Later, she decided to found her own Start up in Morocco in the field of digital marketing before settling at Boni Global as Chief Marketing Officer in Turkey.
Pınar Kaya, Sr. Product Manager
Graduated from Bogazici University with MSc. degree in Engineering and Technology Management after getting her BSc. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Yıldız Technical University. She has 12 years of experience in Telecommunication and Consultancy Management. During 9 years of her career in Turkcell, she launched and managed many Cyber Security, digital products and also managed Turkcell’s channel transformation program for foreign customers in Turkey. She also has consultancy experience in Deloitte and RBS especially related with project risks and accomplishing the regulatory compliance.
Elanur Yoktan, Senior Software Engineer
Elanur graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a degree in Computer Engineering in 2018. During her studies, she interned at Havelsan Teknoloji Radar. She joined Boni Global in 2017 as a Software Engineer and currently holds the position of Senior Software Engineer and is the Head of Product of Loudsteps.
Elif Ermiş, Account Manager
After studying medicine at Hacettepe University, Elif went on to change her field and received her Bachelor’s degree of industrial engineering from Istanbul Technical University and Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Boğaziçi University. In the span of her 6 years of professional career, she has completed internships at Paşabahçe and TEB, as well as working part-time as an analyst at Pedersen & Partners. More recently, she has worked as an SAP CRM consultant at Vektora and Voyacon Information Technologies and as Microsoft Dynamics 365 consultant at INNTHEBOX. Elif joined Boni Global in July 2020 and currently is an account manager at the company.
Ece Yağcı, Product Owner
After graduating from Gazi University with a BSc in Computer Engineering, Ece received her MSc in Information Technology from Endicott College in 2017. She has completed her internship at i2c Business Solutions Inc in New Jersey and returned to Turkey to work as a Business Analyst at MLPCARE. She joined Boni Global in 2020 as System Analyst.
Mısra Özbek, Marketing Communication Manager
Graduated from ESADE Business School with an MSc. Degree in Marketing Management after completing a double degree program in International Relations and Business Administration in Koç University. She has worked as digital content media assistant at FOREO and interned in various companies from Doğuş Holding to advertising agency FCB ARTGROUP. She joined Boni Global as Digital Marketing Specialist and currently holds the position of Marketing Communication Manager.
Sophia Rais, Creative Director
After graduating from INFODESIGN School in Casablanca with Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Development and Design, she got two certifications of AUTODESK from CGI Trainer in Brussels after getting her degree from UHIIC Commerce and Economy Science University of Casablanca. She has held various positions including web design, graphic design, and even event organization, starting with Rahal Group as the junior general designer. Afterwards she managed a design studio with DARTS Advertising Agency, worked as a senior web designer with Cosmoweb and advertising manager at beebuzzad and worked two part-time jobs with Willy and Willy AD Agency and EmotionBox Promotional Gift Company. Later, she held the position of Senior Graphic Designer at Santé Plus Magazine while she was working with their editing agency Gaia Media. Most recently, she worked as Art director and Event Manager with OPPO before finally joining Boni Global as the Creative Director.
Beyza Lafcı, Solution Engineer
Beyza will complete her studies this year and receive her Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering from Yıldız Technical University. Her previous professional experience includes internships at Çevre Mühendislik, Honeywell and GABORAS Real Estate Stock Exchange. She currently holds the position of Solution Engineer at Boni Global.
Gülşah Ayaz, Solution Engineer
Gülşah graduated with a degree in Geomatics Engineering at the top of her class in 2020 from İstanbul Technical University, where she is currently working towards a master’s degree in the same field. She started her professional career at General Directorate of Highways as an engineering intern and worked in service, retail and event organization. She is also a member of Turkey Technology Team. She recently worked at Anka Geographic Information Technologies as Data Executive and Geographic Information System Specialist, joined Boni Global as an intern and is currently holds the position of Solution Engineer.
